The dates and times for the upcoming adjudication concerts are as follows:
- High School Wind Ensemble and Concert Band – Monday, March 9th @ 7pm
- 7th & 8th Grade Band – Tuesday, March 10th @ 7pm
Both concerts will be held in the BMR High School Auditorium.
For those that are new to adjudication concerts —
Adjudication concerts give each of the bands an opportunity to perform their pieces in advance of their MICCA concerts in April. Each band’s performance is evaluated and rated by adjudicators (usually BMR music teachers past and present). The students are then provided a constructive critique to help them improve and hone their performance.
The adjudicators will be sitting at the back of the lower section of the auditorium and will be keeping verbal notes on a recorder during each performance. If you hear them talking while the bands perform, they aren’t being disrespectful — they are doing their job. This same verbal note taking will happen during the MICCA performances as well, so it is good for the students to be used to it.
