Cookie Dough Fundraiser Payment – IMPORTANT

An important note on check payments for the cookie dough fundraiser —

The flyer that went home with the marching band kids indicated that check payments should be made to BMR Marching Band. This is NOT correct.

Please ask anyone paying by check to make the check payable to BMMA.

We apologize for the confusion.

A Note from Mr. Shafer

Dear Parents/Guardians/Families,

As we’ve all heard, it takes a village to raise a child. In our marching band program, it takes two communities to support and help a marching band thrive. This past week we had exactly that: a community come together to help feed, take care of and cheer for 71 marching band members, practicing in uncomfortable conditions.

A sincere thank you to all who volunteered and/or watched and cheered for the band this past week of extremely hot temperatures. You made this week easier for the students AND the staff.

For new parents, I hope you will consider staying involved. Whether your involvement is chaperoning or just simply watching the end of a rehearsal and clapping loudly, your participation in your child’s activity will leave lasting memories. (Coming from someone whose father was a dedicated member of the pit crew.)

Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns and on behalf of the staff, we are thrilled to have your children as part of our marching family.

Sincerely,
Mr. Shafer

Band Camp Update and Saturday Dinner

Band Camp Update and Saturday Dinner

The marching band kids are making AMAZING progress with every day of band camp. Their dedication and hard work, especially in the heat of the past two days, is an inspiration. Thank you to the band teachers, instructors and volunteers who make band camp possible and ensure a great experience for the kids.

The last day of band camp is Saturday, August 14th and that means it is time for the family cookout! Here are the details:

  • Dinner starts at 5pm. We will be providing hamburgers and hotdogs.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Due to required COVID protocols, we cannot provide side dishes this year. Families are encouraged to bring any side dishes they wish to share among their family during the meal.
  • After dinner, there will be a meeting for all parents & guardians. This meeting will provide important information about the upcoming marching band season. Please make certain that at least one parent/guardian attends for each child.
  • When the meeting is concluded, everyone will be invited out to the grassy area adjacent to the parking lot practice area to watch a full run-through of the show, “Oz”.

We’re looking forward to seeing you on Saturday!
