Dear Parents/Guardians/Families,

As we’ve all heard, it takes a village to raise a child. In our marching band program, it takes two communities to support and help a marching band thrive. This past week we had exactly that: a community come together to help feed, take care of and cheer for 71 marching band members, practicing in uncomfortable conditions.

A sincere thank you to all who volunteered and/or watched and cheered for the band this past week of extremely hot temperatures. You made this week easier for the students AND the staff.

For new parents, I hope you will consider staying involved. Whether your involvement is chaperoning or just simply watching the end of a rehearsal and clapping loudly, your participation in your child’s activity will leave lasting memories. (Coming from someone whose father was a dedicated member of the pit crew.)

Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns and on behalf of the staff, we are thrilled to have your children as part of our marching family.

Sincerely,
Mr. Shafer
