Lead People Job Descriptions

In order to ensure the BMR Home Show goes off as smoothly as possible, BMMA needs to have conscientious and dedicated parents and other adults to fill leadership roles in all of the following areas. Please seriously consider stepping up and taking charge of our Home Show. Also, this year’s show will take place at Bellingham High School.

Assistant Show Coordinator: We need an individual who would like to assist the coordinator with the planning, execution, and wrap-up of the high school marching band show. This position is filled.

Program book coordinator: We need a person to take charge of the program book. The tasks include gathering of the book’s content and getting it to the printer for delivery the week prior to the show.

Concessions Coordinator: We need someone to lead the concession booth. The concessions coordinator is responsible for the menu, food and materials purchasing, preparation, and sale of all items in from the concessions booth.

Parking Coordinator: We need someone to lead the parking crew. The parking coordinator is responsible for designating parking areas, and assigning crew members to assist with truck, bus and spectator parking. Signs, vests and flashlights will be provided. This position is filled

Greeter/Escort Coordinator: We need someone to lead the greeters and escorts. These critical volunteers are tasked with greeting all bands, stamping hands of band members and pit crews, escorting bands to practice areas and to the gate. Student volunteers and band alumni have historically helped with escorting bands.

Admissions Coordinator: We need a dedicated volunteer to lead the admissions crew.. The admissions crew is responsible for charging admission, hand stamping, passing out programs and guarding the gates.

50/50 Raffle Coordinator: We need someone to lead the 50/50 raffle crew. This raffle is an important source of funds for the BMMA. The coordinator is responsible for running the split the pot raffle.

Air gram/Candy Gram coordinators (2): We need two people to lead the air gram/candy gram crew. This is an important part of the band show experience. The coordinator is responsible for selling air grams and candy grams, ensuring the air grams for each band are properly sorted, delivering the air grams in time to the MC, and delivering labeled bags of candy to the proper band.

Bleacher Bouncer Coordinator: We need a person to lead the bleacher bouncer crew. One bouncer stands at every entrance to the bleachers and stops all foot traffic while bands are performing. The coordinator is responsible for placing the bleacher bouncer crew and checking that they stay until the last band is finished. The bleacher coordinator is also responsible for ensuring that the bleachers are cleaned after the show.

Merchandise Table Coordinator: We need a person to take the lead at the merchandise table. The lead person is responsible for gathering the merchandise, pricing it and selling it at their table.

Drinks/Snacks Coordinator: We need a person to take the lead in running the drinks / snacks tables. These tables are located near the concession area and include the following three tables: Hot drinks such as coffee and hot chocolate, popcorn table, and bake sale table.

Critique room Coordinator: We need a person to take the lead of the critique room crew, who assist the judges in the critique room. These helpful and friendly individuals are tasked with providing whatever assistance the judges may require.

Please note that there are many other volunteer positions needed to successfully run a high school marching band show that are not listed here. Right now we need these key positions filled to help start the planning phases of the show. If you are interested, please contact me.
